Abstract
This study was performed in the College of Veterinary Medicine at AL-Qasim Green University, in order to determine the plasma blood progesterone level of Reem gazelles (Gazella subgutturosa marica). By knowing the concentration of progesterone in blood plasma, it is possible to know the type of pregnancy, whether it is single or twin, and during the different pregnancy period. Plasma blood progesterone concentration different from female to another depending on status of female (estrus cycle, luteal phase, pregnant). In this study progesterone levels measurement in blood plasma of 13 pregnant gazelle females during different stages of pregnancy females were aged 2-4 years. The levels of progesterone at 60 days of pregnant was (2.5375±0.1267 ng/ml) less than it at days 90 (8.3± 0.151 ng/ml) and 120 days (11.51±0.168 ng/ml) with significantly different (P<0.01) between stages in group of single fetus. Progesterone concentration within group of twin bearing animals at days (60, 90, and 120) was (5.06±0.68 ng/ml, 12.5±0.19 ng/ml, 25.68±1.297 ng/ml) respectively with significantly different (P<0.01). We found significantly different (P<0.05) between two groups of pregnant females with single and twin foetus, mean ± SE was (7.45± 0.7786 ng/ml, 14.41± 2.32 ng/ml) respectively.

Key words: Progesterone concentration; Reem gazelles; Single and twin foetus.
